Built with wood, designed for the future

The structure of The Vold is largely constructed of wood. The basement, ground floor, first floor, second-floor slab, and core walls are constructed of concrete. On the second floor, the walls and ceiling are already made of wood. The upper floors will also be constructed entirely of wood: glulam columns and CLT walls and floors, which are solid wood elements glued together crosswise.

In various areas of the homes, the wooden structure remains visible. Care has been taken to ensure that a number of vertical wooden columns are intentionally left exposed. This gives the natural character of the wood a prominent place in the interior.

Wood also has a warm and soft appearance. Its natural color, tactile texture, and subtle variations in the material bring a sense of calm and atmosphere to the home. Many people find wood pleasant because it feels less hard and impersonal than traditional building materials. It creates a tangible connection to nature and gives every home its own unique character.
