The name refers to the building's iconic V-shape. It is a contemporary interpretation of the fold, expressed through a distinctive capital V that serves as its recognisable signature. The name perfectly reflects the building's striking architecture and character: bold, elegant, and distinctive.

What began as Zuiderlicht now continues under a name that captures the identity of the building even more strongly. Because The Vold is more than just a residential building. It forms a new focal point within Amstelkwartier — iconic and approachable at the same time. A place where architecture, sustainability, nature-inclusive design, and community come together naturally.

Designed by Space Encounters, The Vold is the result of an integrated collaboration between architects, sustainability experts, and local stakeholders.

The result is a striking building that not only stands out on the skyline but also creates a meaningful connection with the neighbourhood and its residents. A place to come home to and a place where people can connect.

The Vold comprises 54 apartments for sale and 2 exclusive penthouses. Sales are expected to start this autumn.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with anticipated completion at the end of 2028. Both timelines are indicative and may be subject to change.
