A place that radiates energy

In Overamstel, on the site where energy was once generated, The Vold is rising — a sustainable building where living, working, and connecting come together. The name refers to both the building’s V-shape and to “Volt,” a subtle nod to the industrial heritage of the former Zuidergasfabriek. The fold in the building’s form gives it a strong identity while also creating optimal daylight, views, and spaciousness.

Nature as an integral part of the design

At The Vold, nature is not an addition but a natural part of the design itself. The green roof valley and stepped terraces provide cooling, shelter, and a pleasant living environment for both people and wildlife.

Integrated nesting spaces in the façade contribute to biodiversity and offer birds and bats a place within the building. This allows you to live in the middle of a green oasis filled with peace and nature.

The Vold offers a diverse collection of 56 owner-occupied homes: from smart studios to exclusive apartments and penthouses with spacious terraces.

Whether you choose a compact or more expansive residence, every home is designed with great attention to light, tranquility, privacy, and a strong connection to the outdoors.

Large windows, smart layouts, and fantastic views over the park and surrounding area create a comfortable and enjoyable living experience.

All homes feature a kitchen with luxury built-in appliances and include one or more bathrooms.

High-end architecture and sustainable luxury

The Vold has been designed to retain its value for years to come. Luxury and sustainability go hand in hand here. The structure is built using sustainable CLT timber, creating warmth and character throughout the building. The façade is finished with ceramic glazed tiles: durable, low-maintenance, and elegant in appearance. The façade bands and roof generate energy through more than 550 m² of solar panels for on-site use. Invisibly integrated, visibly sustainable.

Comfortable parking beneath The Vold

Beneath The Vold is a modern parking garage designed for both comfort and the future. There is space for cars, shared mobility solutions, and ample parking facilities for bicycles and e-bikes. Dedicated spaces for cargo bikes and scooters are also included.

From the parking garage, you can easily access your home, while the streetscape above remains green, calm, and largely car-free. This allows you to live in the heart of the city with all the comforts of modern living.

Under the direction of Stichting Tempel, a rich cultural program comes to life. The Public Library will open a branch featuring a music room and children’s library. The Park Room offers space for events, lectures, and workshops. Creativity, connection, and inspiration come together here every day.
